Institute for Population Health

Gwendolyn Daniels, Chief Executive Officer

The Institute for Population Health (IPH) enables communities to apply state-of-the-art community health practices. IPH was founded in 2012 as an innovative alternative to closing the Department of Health and Wellness Promotion as the City of Detroit was facing bankruptcy.

The mission of the Institute for Population Health (IPH) is to maximize positive health conditions in populations and communities through collaboration, scientific inquiry, and the application of scientific health practices.  The Institute for Population Health is dedicated to improving the availability and quality of population health, personal health and human services by fostering innovation, leveraging resources and building partnerships across public and private sectors. The Institute for Population Health provides services under three umbrellas, including community and consumer engagement, environmental safety and preparedness and behavioral health.
