Alternatives for Girls (AFG)

Alternatives For Girls (AFG) helps homeless and high-risk girls and young women avoid violence, teen pregnancy and exploitation, and helps them to explore and access the support, resources and opportunities necessary to be safe, to grow strong and to make positive choices in their lives. AFG programs include:

  • A shelter for teen girls between the ages of 15 and 21
  • Outreach to youth who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, exploitation, or trafficking
  • Prevention programs to help girls avoid high-risk behaviors by helping them complete high school and gain access to college
  • Youth employment opportunities
