For more than 100 years, The Detroit Health Department has provided relevant public health services and resources to residents. Under leadership of Denise Fair, MPH, FACHE, the mission of the Health Department is to promote and advocate the well-being and safety of all Detroiters through meaningful policies, programs and services and exceptional customer service.

The Health Department is comprised of three offices including Population Health; Clinical Services and Outreach; and Administration and Organizational Development. Each works collaboratively with external partners and community members to help create a public health system which supports a healthy lifespan for all residents.
