Neighborhood Service Organization

Linda Little, President and CEO

Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) was established in 1955 as a private non-profit human service agency. The Mission of NSO is to be an organization “that compassionately reaches out to people, empowering them to improve their lives while being ‘Always Within Reach.” NSO is a diverse human service agency which provides diverse and innovative community development programs and community services to meet the changing needs of the region’s population. Over the years, the scope and variety of services offered have grown into a network of sophisticated, cutting edge, vertically integrated programs which have gained local, regional, statewide and national recognition. NSO makes a difference in the lives of thousands of residents of Wayne and Oakland County through providing homeless services, mental health services, services to adults and youth with developmental disabilities, and youth violence prevention services.
