Assistant Research Scientist, Health Behavior & Health Education
Dr. Coombe works with the Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center (Detroit URC). She has over 25 years of experience developing, implementing, and evaluating community-based interventions and collaborations using a participatory approach. She plays a lead role in curriculum development and evaluation of the Detroit URC’s Neighborhoods Working in Partnership: Building Capacity for Policy Change project, which aims to engage Detroit residents in advocating for policies to improve health. Dr. Coombe has provided consultation and training to numerous public and non-profit organizations in organization development, strategic planning, fundraising, participatory evaluation, board development, and collaboration among diverse partners.
