Mr. Horning currently serves as the Managing Director & Chief of Staff of the Graham Sustainability Institute at the University of Michigan, which catalyzes and facilitates collaborations spanning disciplines, sectors, and topics. He conducted his graduate studies at the University of Michigan where he received an MBA from the Ross School of Business and an MSc from the School of Natural Resources and Environment. His teaching and research interests include leadership development for sustainability and the role institutional structures play in promoting or impeding sustainable behavior. He is particularly interested in conceptualizing, building, and managing programs that engage, empower, and support faculty and students from all U-M units, and helping to integrate this talent with external stakeholders to foster collaborative sustainability solutions at all scales.
